Look SPX Bindings

I just got new Lange lx130 boots non grip walk 5335 soles. Great fit for me. I have several pairs of skis and the bindings are all supposedly compatible with the 5335 sole. Marker and head bindings were simple to adjust by just changing the forward pressure, but I'm having trouble with the skis with look rocker race spx 12 bindings. Both pairs have the R22 plate. The soles on the new boots are 296 so the bindings were already in the appropriate hole range 296-310. Since these soles are slightly shorter than the old boots it seems like it would only be a matter of adjusting forward pressure some. With the boots out of the binding I adjusted the screw so the binding almost touches the boot. Now with the boot in the binding the score mark on the screw is away from the housing. With the boot in the bindingI adjusting the screw so that the mark is where it should be the boot will no longer fit in the binding. What am I missing? The boot fitter added shims under the soles and routed the toe appropriately. Could that be the problem? with my uncanted tecnica boots it was simple, but now can't hit the sweet spot. tried moving to adjacent holes on the plate in either direction but the same thing happens.
