About Taos...

I have not been there. How reliable is the snow? I have been told that it depends on the location of the jet stream, if it's south then the skiing is great. If the jet stream is north, don't go. True or false?

Planning a trip several months in advance...how likely will Taos be good skiing regardless of the weather patterns? Best month? We might not get incredible conditions like the photos above, and less will still be fun.

Depends on what you want to ski and where you are coming from. I personally think mid-January to mid-February is the best time to ski Taos. This is supposed to be our dry year and we only had 1 storm each month so far but it is enough to keep the season going and conditions are still great.

Anyone know if SkiPro has any competency in their shop? Would like to have my ski bases and edge bevels checked and tuned if necessary.

The answer is no. They will just run them through the machine.

I haven't used this guy yet but he can probably do the job.

Thanks. Pretty much what I was thinking. Maybe I'll give "Crazy Legs" a call

I'm headed up to bowl Thursday, hopefully a base refresh will be waiting. Time to get some days in, I'm betting we don't get too far into April this season. :(

I skied today after a month long hiatus and conditions were really fun.

if we get 5+ tonight it’s going to be pretty darn good I imagine. There must have been some good wind events lately, a lot of runs are skiing fairly flat including volcano, casino and upper lift line. Put a small amount of pow on that and it’s gonna be super fun.

That’s the problem with your considering giving up skiing...it’s really fun.
