I saw that earlier and thought WTH? The only reason that mountain is there is for skiing (and boarding, if you must).

In the biz they call that a “soft” opening. Bring staff on, keep it low key, get the bugs worked out etc. Used to be the norm, nowadays the empires want to make sure they have big revenue on opening day.
