#31 Gore- was really nice- felt like skiing on Western Packed powder, the temperature kept dropping and increasing winds cleared out some clouds so the high peaks were really nice- Looked better in person. I Love my Z-90's

day 21, I think I finally have an idea of what eastcoasters call "boilerplate" it was hard hard hard hard today, shiny all over, very few skiers.its been warm winds with serious strength, then instant cold again, with 0 snow for a few weeks now with multiple cycles :(

I was testing out GS skis 183/30 and 188/30, so it kinda worked out great for that.

day 18, FIS SL datenight with GF, masters training on monday, and testing out new stuff. we had -16 to -6 turn +10 hot wind and back to -6... aka HARD and awesome for race skis! showed up 1,5 hours before closing and had the resort almost to ourselfs.

GF lovin her new ones, going from 157 rossi to 155 redster with X16 and 3mm, mixed with new STI 130 boots, she was just rippin & grippin.

I was on new to me Stöckli racedepartment SL 165 from a national team athlete used for 2021.... I think I have might have gone to aggressive, theese things demanded respect over my two other pairs of rossi/atomics, which have been more off the shelf from store skis. kinda interesting 3 skis in same FIS spec can be so different with same base/edge angles setup (different shim height and bindings) and generation though. Maybe someone can fill me inn on why its like this?

In my limited experience, Stockli FIS seem to usually be stiffer and thus more demanding, very obviously, than the usual medium or softer medium stiffness - or more consumer race skis - of other brands. Also, I've been told that their standard race (WRT) construction is less like standard consumer race skis of other brands, and more like the select or top ski racer versions of other brands.

Even within the same brand (say Atomic), a stiffer medium ski can be more.... demanding or performance oriented, say, than a softer medium ski, for both SL and GS (though I happen to have experienced this more with GS, but not sure as a general rule).

Man, here on Friday, I've stalled out at 43 since Tuesday (at Copper mountain). Was on the Blossom Whiteouts 176, such a fun ski.

It was a relief to have fewer skiers on the slopes, after intense crowds over the MLK weekend. Whew.

But have had to go down to Denver (old guy health issues?).

Today, Friday, I missed a powder day up there. Confusing.
