Did not get any visible snow on the mountains around here (Schweitzer did) this weekend, but it missed a rally good chance.
Indian Summer is going to kick in starting this weekend until it ends. Might be one of the best seasons of the year.

Not really first snow as lingers on peaks most of year but a bit of fresh on the hike yesterday. Larch Valley near Lake Louise.

So what is the cut off between last season and this season then? Was July the start, or continuation?

Ahh, a thread from before my time (joining this forum that is.) I was referring to when I believe @newboots first skied at Big Snow. Now to go back and see if there was any consensus to the question.

I think definitely in July! I’d better
start counting. Oh, my pass will count them for me! Now that they’ve had this fire I don’t know when I’ll be using it again. :(

In ABQ on vacation - took this from the road yesterday, near Santa Fe. Not sure if the snow is on a ski area or not but I think we were looking east at that point. Also have a pic of some bare ski runs that were closer to us and a little south of this pic. Haven’t tried to match this up to a map yet.
