both were machine or machine tools. they were under beveld after machinework like you said in tips & tails, I did corrected it by hand when setting from 88 to 87, but I rechecked it and observed I might not have done a good enough job. I'll hit the basement and look over everything again, has to be something I did wrong.

The tool is the SVST (Sun Valley Ski Tools) Edge Bevel Meter.

I really like the Toko WC base bevel guide because it's quite long and extends across much more of the ski base (across all of the ski base width on race skis). The guide also prevents over-beveling, so you keep filing until the file is no longer taking any steel off the edge. This ensures that the edge has been fully set to the desired bevel angle.
