Phil,

It’s great they are able to pull it off this season

the odd thing is the Tahoe (Stateline) training only offers masters only.

Do you have any insight on that ?

Shoot. I would love to go to the one in Okemo, but the dates don't work.

Northeast Masterfit University Re-scheduled for Nov. 11-12 at Mt. Snow, VT

JOURNALIST NOTE: If you are interested in attending a Masterfit University session to learn more about state-of-the-art boot and shoe fitting or are looking for expert sources to comment on any footwear fitting issues, please contact Steve Cohen at (914) 944-9038, [email protected].

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NY—It took a lot of logistical puzzle pushing but the Northeast Masterfit University bootfitter training sessions have been rescheduled for Nov. 11-12 at Mt. Snow, VT. Registration for all course levels is now open at www.MasterfitUniversity.com.

The Fall 2021 sessions were originally scheduled for Okemo, VT in late September but labor shortages and other operational obstacles at Okemo made it impossible for the resort to provide the services necessary to host Masterfit University.

“Fortunately, we were able to work with our partners at Vail Resorts (owners of both areas) and reschedule the Northeast sessions to the tail end of our global tour,” said Masterfit CEO Steve Cohen. “Hopefully these new dates will prove even more convenient for retailers as they fall when more seasonal hires have been made.

“We’re excited to be back at Mount Snow, our long-time Eastern base for Masterfit U operations,” said Cohen. The conference facilties at Mt. Snow are top notch and we know the staff there will help us run a flawless event. We look forward to welcoming the northeast and mid-Atlantic snowsports bootfitting community back to Masterfit University at Mt. Snow.”

“We recognize that this change provides a challenge to retailers and staff scheduling so we are extending early bird registration rates (a 10% discount) through Nov. 8, two days prior to the new event start date,” Cohen added. “Registrants who originally planned to attend the Okemo event and are unable to or choose not to attend the rescheduled event at Mt. Snow are eligible for a complete refund.” (Contact customer service manager Liz Boyer at 914-944-9038 x7003; [email protected] for refund requests).

Masterfit University is the world’s largest and most comprehensive training program for snowsports bootfitters. It will holds open-to-snowsports professionals sessions this year in Vermont, Colorado, California, Washington and Austria. Masterfit also provides private training to multi-storefront retailers including REI in the US and Sport 2000 in Europe.

Masterfit University Background Facts
Now in its 27th year, Masterfit U is recognized as the world-wide standard in boot fit education, having trained individuals from North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
“In an increasingly challenging business climate, the ski and snowboard retailers who are surviving—and in many cases thriving—are those who have dedicated themselves to providing outstanding bootfitting service,” says Masterfit CEO Steve Cohen.”
Attendees this year can look forward to new state-of-the-art equipment, improved multi-media presentation capabilities and a learning environment that provides expanded, topic-targeted, hands-on breakout sessions. “Our less talk, more action and ‘Learn It, See It, Do It’ format better simulates an actual shop environment,” says MFU curriculum director Mark Elling. “And it accommodates people with different learning styles.”
Students can choose from five locations and five training tracks, all with extensive hands-on experience in Masterfit's state-of-the-art traveling boot labs.

Associates Course
A Year's Worth of Knowledge in Just One Day

This intensive one-day program hammers home the nuts and bolts of basic bootfitting. The program lasers in on the basics of boot sales, off-the-shelf footbeds and simplified problem solving for day-to-day boot bench combat. This course includes hands-on workshops on essential liner and shell modifications as well as snowboard specific fitting tactics. The Associates Course is aimed at returning seasonal employees, new hires and rental shop personnel.

Associates Plus Course
Kicking it Up a Notch

After completing the Associates program on day one, Plus candidates spend the following morning in a concentrated, hands-on custom footbed lab session that provides the expertise and confidence to jump right into the footbed fray. In the afternoon, attendees have a choice of exciting skills development breakout sessions on a variety of topics.

Masters Course
Intensive Training for Experienced Boot Techs

A two-day session for experienced boot techs packed with practical information they can use to improve their businesses immediately. Students learn everything from biomechanical analysis techniques that let them better match sliders to the right boots to advanced modification and stance balancing strategies and footbed construction techniques. The course provides more experiential learning sessions in seminar-style workshops with top industry pros.

Masters Plus—The Dark Arts
The Doctorate Program of Bootfitting

The two-day advanced curriculum is designed for techs that are already near the pinnacle of experience and knowledge and want an immersion experience to study more complex modification techniques and strategies.
All attendees receive Masterfit’s comprehensive training manual, lunch daily, the opportunity to make their own custom insoles and Masterfit EZFit cut-to-fit insoles for both snowsports and athletic shoes.
