@cragginshred, word on the street was Rose gave Dodge the lift, or whatever parts were still good, for taking it down and moving it. It's great we got a new lift but that one has 40+ years of good service and a lot of memories.

After reading Tony Hillerman novels and non fictional books, Taos has always been on my "to visit" places list...
I encourage you to make the trip. TSV is often compared to A-Basin in terms of terrain, but the town and pueblo make it something else entirely. There's a lot of history here.

Tire-eating snow is the worst, @Andy Mink...

Turns out there was no more pavement under that part if the snow "parking lot".
Last year this time it happened to me too. I incautiously went "too far" in the parking lot and the front of the car "fell" in the little creek (just few inches of a depression, not really a creek) bordering the parking. In deep winter with lot of packed snow in it, not a problem. Summer..either. In the middle, when not enough snow to compact in it has fallen but enough not to see it...a tyres trap...those with AWD or 4x4 had no problem...me.. I was seriously doubting being able to make it home that evening. Until a guy in a pick up truck came to the rescue and very easily dragged the car out. It toom some convincing obtaining his help, though.
Luckily this year I am on an AWD with higher ground clearance...

4 Gore--- Not too bad of a day.. they made some snow to cover some high traffic thin spots. Topridge is open and was very nice. I should have taken a photo but I didn't want to stop. . Clouds gave way to some sun late morning.. Got in almost 14,000 Vertical in 3hrs.
