Awesome conditions at Sunday River this weekend and today!

I had feared things would be very firm today after how warm it got yesterday, but the bumps were actually very pleasant everywhere.

Trail of the day yesterday for me was Eureka and today was Downdraft. I had to repeat Downdraft I liked it so much, which is unusual for me.

More snow on the way!

Maybe next time

Should be able to get there, heavy stuff not coming until late am, early afternoon…

That, or the boat headed into the Perfect Storm…

I dont think blizzard conditions are expected until tomorrow. They said blizzard on the radio, that’s all I know.

I'm at Sugarbush right now. Deep snow, heavy but not as heavy as I feared. I got one run in, then they announced the power was "flickering" so they were closing the lifts.

They are trying to get the backup diesel running now.

edit: now loading every other chair. There was zero.line for my one run, but there is a huge line now.

Just got back from BC. This snow is NOT powder!
9” in the CT hills and “mashed potatoes” is not even adequate to describe this stuff. And then rain predicted for Friday….:poo:

Geez, I thought they got over that. Like 5-6 yrs ago, everytime we went there were lift problems.

There’s a lot of snow. Reminded what “post holing” means, yes, even in VT.! Snow was maybe lighter higher up, but not light. Some real wind affected areas. When plowing through the untracked it came above the knees. Lots of times you just come to a stop. Also, try to turn too much across the fall line and you’ll submarine, spin, tumble. Today was the day for a PNW pow ski. Whatever that is.

Just done at Sunday River - can’t even walk…
@ 4-5 inches, some from last night and a brief blast late morning.
On the heavy side but wonderful in the glades and woods. A real workout and lots of fun.

Nice!

Too me that's close to the perfect amount of fresh snow if I'm skiing in it and it's super heavy/wet. Is it still snowing, or is it done? Was hoping for more overall to really stick in and build the base in the trees.

Oh - and Missy - good call on Downdraft !
That was excellent - except for an occasional surprise powder dump between bumps that was indistinguishable from a more solid surface.

Done - haven’t checked the weather to see if it’s over. Snowing home on the coast I hear though.

Still snowing in Ludlow, VT. Light, but quite steady.
Trees look like Japan where it’s not windy.
