Looks like the all mountain shapes of the AM108 and AM98 are now available in an 88 and 78. But what of the AM88/77 from last year? I was expecting to see them in the carving collection, but maybe the website is not yet complete...

I don’t think the skis have changed from last year, looks like the AM77/88 are the same, and they have always considered those “all mountain” rather than carving. I don’t think their site has been updated in year.

What Augment considers their carving skis are on a different page.

which are different from their Race Pro and Race FIS skis.

Or you could look at the NA distributor site.

Wow, it does look like the AM88 is now shaped like the AM98. I LOVED the AM98 when I demoed it; I’d happily purchase an AM88 that was shaped like it. But is that website really showing 2022 skis? Because it indicates all the skis are sold out.

I wouldn't count on anything you see on the website being complete and correct and current. I just have that sense that, as with MANY smaller businesses, it's not treated as a first class citizen in their public outreach, to the extent that internet-focused folks like us might want to assume.

No, I think they are real photos: zooming in shows all sorts of lighting imperfections. These are new shapes for sure. Note the difference in sidecut radius and tip and tail width numbers:

Old:

163cm - 17m Radius - 126.5/88/112 - 3300g/pair
171cm - 18.5m Radius - 126.5/88/112- 3500g/pair
179cm - 21m Radius - 126.5/88/112 - 3700g/pair
187cm - 23m Radius - 126.5/88/112 - 3900g/pair

New:

NameRadiusSide shapeWeight
All Mountain88 16316128/88/1101.600g
All Mountain88 17117128/88/1101.700g
All Mountain88 17918128/88/1101.800g

As soon as I skied the AM98 I thought, "this would be a helluva ski at 88mm" I did make that suggestion last year to both Augment USA and the Europeans. My only concern is that they lowered the rise in the tip and tail from the 98, which at this point is a lot...for an 88...but I could be wrong once we ski it.

Tbh, I hope they did not change the shape. More taper would not do them any favors. The shape was already really good and had wonderful engagement. The problem was that the skis were just too riddiculoiusly stiff for anything except high speeds in firm snow, even in a 8 er soft. The shape was actually really nice.

Did they also drop the 187 length option for the am88?

Never did try the 98s though.

Seeing that the "new" 88 is 10mm narrower through the whole dimensions than the AM98 and the radius's are the same, it looks like the took the 98's mold and just made it narrower so I would expect a 187 AM88 V2

Any Vermont dealers? I may be there in December. Would love to see in person.

No Vermont dealers yet. We've floated ourselves past a few and we're close to signing a New England Rep/Eastern Sales Manager who is well connected in New England and should help us grow quickly there. At the moment the closest retailer is SkiMD in Natick, MA.

wow, that 88am looks great! in our last big ski test, at mammoth just before the lockdown, the augments were my favorite feelin skis of anything there! the am77 and am88 were just a little less sidecut than what I like to ski, but this new one... looks perfect, I want one! hopefully they'll have availability!

any dealers still have 98s in 187? I'd rather support a dealer than order direct (though ordering direct from the non-north america site seems a lot cheaper)
