Pisspoor showing by Japan. May've been too much celebrating the win over Germany, but they were sloppy in 2H and just gave away that goal.
Well you're half way there..
And things have gone downhill fast for Canada... looking overmatched the last 15 or 20 mins and down now. They need a half time regroup.Yeah... good start!
I mean they simply don't have the pedigree. Great step but not likely to be.And things have gone downhill fast for Canada... looking overmatched the last 15 or 20 mins and down now. They need a half time regroup.
I came here to post this. Thank you!
It's a wonderful world we live in that we can have 2 such differing views. The more soccer I watch at the elite level the more I appreciate that it's a minor sport here in the US and we have much more exciting sports to watch.Football through the eyes of …..Americans…
Interesting to me that the more I watch Football (now that it is easier to see it on the tube here) the less I enjoy Football (American)
Guy came in to work today - his son-in-law is the American goalie and Arsenal backup. He had never mentioned it before thinking no one would be interested.
His daughter (I knew) was a Patriots cheerleader - he knew we would be interested to know that….
I once had a professor compare and contrast American football with global football from a management strategy perspective. American football spends considerable offline time scheming between each play versus soccer with more of a continuous emerging strategy. The participants on the soccer field have to make decisions on their own and in real time every second.. American football has an entire committee recalculating and planning out the next 30 seconds each and every execution cycl
It's nice to know cricket is taking off so much for you guys! It's a wonderful world we live in that we can have 2 such differing views. The more soccer I watch at the elite level the more I appreciate that it's a minor sport here in the US and we have much more exciting sports to watch.
On the other hand, ever watch a non-elite level regular football? Players just kick the balls back and forth in the mid-field. It's like watching paint dry.
If by constant action you mean running and kicking the ball back and forth and rolling around whining about being touched then yes it's more interesting but that is exactly what happens.American football is a collection of full team set plays.
Regular football is more a collection of individual or small group cooperation.
Each has its appeals and drawbacks. From the viewers perspectives, regular football is more interesting with its constant action. At least at the world cup level, while American football suffers from the endless interruption. On the other hand, ever watch a non-elite level regular football? Eh... the NFL and NHL are my favorites, but I don't think there's any sport I'm that dismissive of. I hate the whining and rolling and diving in soccer (I'd like to see players suspended for it based on after match replay)... but I still really like soccer and follow it (US team, and Liverpool in the EPL). But like I said, I like watching most sports at least somewhat - there's always something interesting. That's probably why I love the Olympics... I like to see track and field, and curling, and taekwondo, and bobsled, and indoor cycling, etc. Or perhaps there are sports I wouldn't like, but I don't see them often enough for them to get boring. If by constant action you mean running and kicking the ball back and forth and rolling around whining about being touched then yes it's more interesting but that is exactly what happens.
I'm watching the US games. I want the US to win but when they lose and are out I'll just watch highlights of the remaining games after the fact.Eh... the NFL and NHL are my favorites, but I don't think there's any sport I'm that dismissive of.
