Philpug: Like its racier brothers the MTi and STi, the 82Ti is all new, but this one has some finesse to it. Where the Disruption MTi will take your money, the 82Ti will make you hand it over thinking it was all your idea. The outgoing Ikonic 80/84Ti were nice skis but suffered from the Steadfast syndrome; the all-new Disruptions have a distinct personality and are a great balance of fun and business, and their business is fun … if your idea of fun is to go Mach 1 and tear things up.
The Disruption 82Ti is part of a younger wave of frontside-biased all-mountain skis in the upper 70s to low 80s, and it raises the performance bar. It rips, it cuts trenches -- and it can launch you across the hill if you aren’t ready. I really hate to regurgitate manufacturer rhetoric, but K2 is making a disruption. The 82Ti is the reference power ski in the frontside all-mountain category.

Insider tip: Don’t hesitate to size down; even though they say they have rocker, they ski their full length.

Andy Mink: This one likes to go fast and make 18m edged turns. It isn't for the faint of heart; it is made to rip. It doesn't care to be pushed around, especially in heavier piles that can build up on the groomers as the day wears on. It will move the pile, then the tail slides away and things get dicey. The Disruption 82 wants you to slice through the piles. These are another entry into the purpose-built 80s carving ski category. The Speed Rocker is a fairly traditional tip-to-tail affair, so these ski true to length.

Insider tip: K2 is back, baby!

Do you like fast? Do you like laying it over? Look at this one.
Who is it not for?
Skiers who aren't technically adept at carving should pass. If you loved your old Recon or Rictor, look somewhere else ... boomer.

I skied the older 177 Disruption last season. The Disruption was a great ski for me. Quick edge to edge, stable, and a lot of fun carving up the groomers. I would have been perfectly happy skiing them but I replaced them with a 137-78-119, 168mm 11m carving ski that is for me more responsive, more challenging, and very exciting. I’m glad I sold the older Disruptions…

This Disruption is a great East Coast ski especilly for the hard and fast conditions we have had so far this season(and every season ;)!
