So I’m doing a “race” in July called El Doce. It’s an annual event at Powder Mountain. It’s a 6 or 12 hour relay. I’m doing the 12 hour with 3 others. 15 miles, about 2000 vert climbing per lap.

Have a fast, fun race!

Keep in mind that a big race is a great excuse to purchase an upgrade or two that you wanted to buy anyway.

I know, we’ve been talking about upgrading my bike with lighter drivetrain, wheels? Vs. getting a Top Fuel. Of course, I likely won’t see the Top Fuel until winter anyway so hmmmmm…

I feel your pain. Once I finish my brief return to racing this summer, I'll likely move on from the Supercaliber to a Top Fuel. I've got a frameset on backorder with no (real) ETA. Sheesh.

I got a bit jiggy today with my ride. Up Harum and down Fuller; both are moto trails. Harum was almost smooth. Fuller was twisty and turny in the middle and pretty torn up all over.

I first saw this cabin in 2016. It has leaned a bit more. One of these days... boom.

With thunder crashing and this view up valley, I cut my ride a little short today. I could have kept going. It never rained in my neighborhood. Lots of vert for the distance, though.

Very short jaunt on the Ogden side of the mountains today. The canyon winds literally almost blew me over.

Came across a friendly version of a danger noodle. It’s always unsettling because these always look like rattlers until you get up close. I’m glad I didn’t run it over.

How is loading it on top of your car?
I haven’t tried, in fact my car hasn’t been out of the garage since I got the bike & I have been riding trails I normally would drive to.
That won’t last forever though but I might be able to hump it up there if I take the battery out. In the mean time I’ve been doing my pull-ups & push ups. Otherwise I will stuff it in the back of the car which is probably safest.

Riding it and parking the car altogether is a win!

Putting the bikes in the rack is where we ebikers make up for "the cheat". Suckers are not light.

It took me almost 3 hours and 18 miles to get 1000 feet of vertical, including about 6 miles of roads to get back and forth from my home. I rode hard tail for a while which I think actually helped me get up some of the harder rocks. The rear shock might need some work done.

That trail looks like a blast. I love ground-level tech challenges, which is a trail category that seems to be generally going the way of the dodo.

There is no shortage of it around Boston. I am sure there are some very accomplished riders here, but when I see 2000 feet in 2 hours I am like nfw. Up at the bike park in Maine I could do 500 in 15 minutes but that wasn’t a sustainable pace for me. The hills up there do help me though and I enjoy the variety of machine built flow tracks.
