The dog and I had a fun ride last weekend. But now it’s snowing so maybe I’ll bump the Skintrack photo thread next weekend.

My shock is definitely defective and needs to be warrantied by Fox. Has anyone done this process on their own? @Tom K. don't you have contact info for someone there?

I'm a long time friend of the service manager, but Fox has a new internet "portal" for service that even previous rock stars -- ha ha -- are asked nicely to use, unless it's a race emergency. It's a little clunky, but if I was able to muddle through it, anybody can:

It worked well for me, but the lead time is significant (this was in early Feb, so no hurry on my part).

If you get a confirmation date that is too far out, and it's a warranty thing, your LBS can typically get around that wait time.

And if that fails, I'll PM you the contact info for The Big Boss.

Thanks, Tom! The shock is at the shop so hopefully it can be taken care of more quickly. I meant to do it this winter but moving kind of threw a lot of stuff on the back burner. Spring riding is right around the corner in S Utah :geek:

Many shops can handle Fox warranty I’d have them do it if you can.

We need to start the new year thread. I’m always stuck between this thread and winter rides. My stuff is phat bike mostly and less fat bike, although 2.6 tires without much air do rip snow pretty good.

Wait, I thought this was the new year (2022) thread.

Am I missing something?

Anyhoo, we're somewhere between 2 and 4 weeks away here. I'm hoping closer to 4, since that will make the end of the ski season more fun......

Why didn’t I know this? I literally have the first post on this thread.

South Spencer is usually clear by now, but that rain probably made it quite sloppy..

No pics but last week I rode Silver Falls State Park abit east of Salem Oregon. First time there, trails where quite fun and in great shape!

It did not look like it on our way across KM Ranch and Spring Prairie Roads a few days ago.

And my little local secret system which shall not be named isn't even close. A good ice pack going right now.

On the new ti hardtail?! Do tell!

10-4 on the ice pack. Km ranch is my early season ‘road loop on my gravel bike’ Ive got some time scheduled there this weekend.

Yep, just ordered some flatter bars, longer stem and a permanent seatpost(was running the post from my fishing bike).

Got out for a first ride of the season for me yesterday. Felt really good. Took @Wendy who is visiting and got her a little experience on an e-bike.

First real mtb ride of the year today. No pics. Pretty much a bust.

Tried a new to me area that is a shuttle mountain. Halfway melted, so no danger of riders coming down from above. Thought I'd ride up, since hiking reports had it clear for 3 miles.

After 1.5 miles and over 1,000' of climbing, I decided that this was a decidedly downhill trail -- since it was semi-technical to boot.

Even without the winter burger belly, it would have been just a little too sporty, but our regular xc trails should be rideable in a week. Fingers crossed!

EDIT: I feel inadequate without any pics, so I'll post this one of me coaching @Fuiller on how to ride a t-bar: "It pulls you, man, stop trying to sit down on it like a chairlift!" He got it!!!

This fits the biking forum because I know he is now back in FL, spinning out the road miles on his road bike....

Lake Pueblo today with one of my sons. This is where the huge wind event that led to the urban firestorm outside of Denver deposited a massive amount of tumbleweed in these erosion trail canyons.

It’s always loose, steep, and rowdy in here and whipping into unbroken tumbleweed choke spots added to the spice. 7 miles of techy late March fun. Was supposed to be 80°, but barely broke 60.

Second pic is Hooters Too, man that line the rolls from where I am standing is a huge commit.

@Fuller, see post 36 above for some light-hearted humor (I goofed up the tag).

More perfect corn today. No biking to report.

EDIT: OK, here's some 2008 rock porn from the Kokopelli Trails, on our way to Moore Fun. That trail used to be right at my limit. Now I just ride by and sigh.....

Little dawn patrol trail inspection this morning bouncing between forest roads and singletrack checking the trail conditions. Looking out towards the ski hill(which was fun canned corn this afternoon).
