I dunno, it looks awful cumbersome. ;)
Well, I haven’t tried to hoist it onto the roof yet

Barely getting g the wheels off the ground!
The 10 minute learning curve was torturous ;).

I actually like the weight. Seems to hug the trail & the DH acceleration is a noticeable improvement. I do expect to wear out a lot of brake pads

Some of you who post here seem to be saying that electric bikes are more satisfying, efficient and a better riding experience than pedal powered bikes. That may be so, but electric chairs which have been in use for many more years than electric bikes have been the death of an incredible number of people, take care.

I was lauging at you saying you were being factious ...how was I (or anyone) to know there was anything factious on this post....

There was no .... :ogcool::roflmao::nono:;):( in the post.
Sometimes the option doesn't show up for whatever reason, especially on my phone. Sometimes, I'm rushing.

Did a guided pre-ride for El Doce yesterday. It’s kind of a bummer that I’m the only woman who showed up. We did have one gal who looked to be in her 60s that we kept leap frogging who we should have just invited to join us. I still struggle to find reliable female riders who ride frequently and can hang at kinda faster speeds and ride longer distances.

I stayed towards the back of the pack with this group and ended up with—shocker—the other 50+ riders but we were never far from the leaders. Hoo boy it’s getting dusty, too. I’m coughing a lot today. The next two weekends I’ll be doing this same ride only “racing”. I can’t ride all-out for 15+ miles with that much climbing, but I can do it and feel pretty ok at the end, so that’s a win!
The group:

the dirty face. My entire body was layered in dust. Powder Mountain is notoriously dusty.

Another fine ride in the 'hood. Columbine is popping! :) I have yet to see a fine rose bush in bloom, however. :-(

We've been getting out earlier than usual in hopes of avoiding the crowds. Still not bad until the last 30 minutes. I'm NOT getting up 30 minutes earlier, though. Tomorrow is the Firecracker 50 (and 25) which crosses most of the trails around here at one point or another. I'll be doing projects around the house, grilling sausages and tuning skis at the shop.

The red splotches about dead center are roses. Let's go roses, let's go!

Purty something-or-other yellow daisies.

4th of July Bowl is going to be more accessible hiking up it proper than hiking the usual road to looker's left and up the ridge. I'm passing on holiday skiing this year. Tonight it's Bob Dylan at the Dylan, er, Dillon Amphitheatre. It's thundering now so hopefully it will be clearing up by show time.

On the final stretch of our ride today we encountered a group of no less than 20 rental e bikers! Fat ones, skinny ones, short ones & tall ones, it was pretty funny… 4th of July in Tahoe there are no rules, just hope they don’t burn the place to the ground!!! :geek:

I’ve come to realize that I really don’t know how to train for these cross country “races”. My age doesn’t help because it’s really easy to overtrain. So, no alcohol for now, eat well, and fuel during the rides ahead of when I think I should. Which means I’ll have to stop and eat. I have found I like the little waffles which hold me over for quite awhile. I just don’t want to honk because that’s miserable!

You need to have a race ready routine going beforehand, not change for a race. The problem is not knowing what those changes on routine will affect your ride.

Be fast. Keep the rubber side down.

So, I've mixed in some rides on the race route twice now so I've got the distance and have done some shorter sprint interval rides but it's hard to know how much to rest before hand and it's so different than when I was younger as recovery takes longer now. Just under 16 miles and 1900 feet of climbing will not be a sprint for me. This course has more climbing than descending until the very end. I bonked so hard last year doing it, but it was a different course. My goal is to not bonk  which means I have to pace myself on the climbs.
