I don't know, they all seem to lead to something I consider important! What I need is a better camera mount.

I just cut two off! It's freeing!

After acquiring my Bronson, I decided to keep my Scott Genius, thinking that they serve different purposes and I'd get some use out of both of them...like having one pair of 88 underfoot skis (Genius), and one pair at 100 (Bronson). Turns out I loved the 100s so much that I neglected the 88s for the past couple years. The Genius was a 2x10, with a shock/fork lockout lever, and a dropper post...yea, LOTS of cables. I finally transitioned it to a wide range 10 speed cassette and a single chainring. Plus, I decided to get rid of the fork lockout (it didn't work anyways). Two cables down and the cockpit is now set up "correctly". Still not sure I'll ride it much, but I think it's a much better setup for when (if) I decide to sell.

I also think it would be fun to swap the shock to a coil, and maybe upgrade to a slightly beefier fork....but not committing to that cost quite yet.

It's true...I'll never understand the enjoyment of climbing hills. But I will tolerate it in order to go down them.

For me, a joy if the uphills are single track, sinuous and undulating.

Otherwise, yeah, means to an end.

I love climbs that are technical enough to distract from the pain. Fire road climbs are the worst of all possible worlds.

Fire road climbs are nice Well at least some of them. Those 25+% going up for kilometer, sometimes to make things even worse, in straight line, are crap, and for that, singletrails are so much nicer, and feel much easier, but those 10-15% winding up nicely for 5-10km are nice. You can just spin easily, forget about anything so those are cool. But I just had discussion last week with one of friends, and tried to explain why for me going up is just as much fun as going down. No i didn't manage, so I won't even try it here in English, if I wasn't successful even in my native language But for me climbing up is really just as much fun as riding then down. Yeah I know, I'm weird. That's easiest explanation

Big for me ride today, 35 miles on the Tahoe Pyramid bike path. It's a mix of dirt, gravel, old pavement from Highway 40, paved bike path, and road. My friend Jeff rode with me.

Agreed…for me it’s thinking about “what goes up must come down”, the longer I go up, the more I get to come down

Also, I agree with Tony…uphill tech trails that require 100% of my mind space makes me forget about how much pain I’m in…so that definitely helps with making it less unenjoyable.

Huh. This is what I love, love, love about the X2.

No skipping around. All traction, all the time.

But I can tune any ride I want into the X2, what with externally adjustable HSC, LSC, HSR and LSR.

A bit more pop these days. Also mostly faster. Especially uphill. Really liking this DVO To

But…I don’t like all the extra tuning, I think most of us amateurs never get it right and certainly not day by day.

I just set trail for climbing, leave it on trail for flow, and open for technical DH.

I had a good ride this morning, though I broke my Timber Bell. Again. With my knee. Again. I washed out the front end in some sand on a turn, caught it and went off reading, almost over the bars. Didn't crash though, so that's good. Did draw blood though. I guess that makes it an official mtb season.
