The Snake Dance used to have a very small grocery store on the lower level. Does anyone know if it's still there? Any other grocery options in the Ski Valley?
Yes still there. There is now a higher end grocery option, Cid’s, in the Blake residence plaza (by ice skating rink). They also have quite a selection of liquor and a make to order hot sandwich/grill station inside.

I got permission before taking photos inside of Cid’s. Here’s most of what they have and I hope you can zoom in to see details.
Their hot food station is open daily for breakfast and lunch until 3pm, EXCEPT NO LUNCH ON WEDS. They have pre-made sandwiches and a microwave in there too C0B99BD9-97B0-46D7-9261-C2AEDD388918.jpeg EDCC0788-7FA3-42D9-A91B-0E7EB747DF67.jpeg 2A5E2B2D-883F-42E8-A5D4-B22A856C4DD8.jpeg 6F312B94-A8B9-4634-8DFE-4AA06D88D1C6.jpeg D6128B37-811C-4C74-A93C-2F0E1616D544.jpeg 34BD9A25-19E7-44B6-85E7-45B5A8E4BAA7.jpeg 2FD71C4B-4F98-49B8-BAA7-01C0EDE2A43A.jpeg 917B384B-AAE0-4BB0-9AE8-DFA8A2D3480B.jpeg 5FA6994B-8B9C-4CFB-995B-C0D506064D6E.jpeg 282FBAC8-576F-4031-A4E3-5CA7A70AA0EC.jpeg

Bumps Market was open last year. It’s on the Sutton Place end of Snakedance at the bottom of the stairs. All restaurants were carry out only last year. Some vaccine requirements are likely in place to dine indoors at some locations this year. Le Ski Mastery has relocated for a second time and is now at the riverside end of the Blake Residences.

Thanks!!! What site gave you the updated satellite view? My Google maps didn't have the new buildings yet.

One more note/reiteration... if you take the blue route there's no issue getting to the locker room... you just need to walk down a flight of stairs to get to it from the main patio. The yellow route just avoids stairs to get there - though you do walk up the stairs from the locker room to get on the snow and to the lift.
It’s from the map app on my iphone. It is still an old photo since the ice skating has been up for a few months now.
More photos of the base area:
Cid’s is at the corner closest to Alpine Suites (looking back towards parking lot):

Le Ski is at the closest corner before crossing bridge to lift 1 (if you take blue route):

This is the stairs that you take to the lockers/bathrooms at the lower level:

If you want to walk directly to lower locker level, stay on the road to the LEFT of ice skating rink:

This is the back of the building that @dbostedo is talking about:

Much as I loved the social aspect of the boot room, I'm probably booting up outside.
This and @FlyingAce 's pics bring up another option (and maybe this is what you meant)... you could likely boot up on the patio area, and then duck inside just to stow your bag, if you don't want to boot up at the car.

There are always a few chairs on the lower level, right by the seasonal lockers area that people can use.
Also a few options by the ice skating rink and outside of Le Ski if you want less crowds/traffic.

I will be living vicariously through y'all's reports and pictures. I really want to do this someday, maybe next year! The ski week thing is definitely enticing.

As for the New Mexican food topic - fell in love with it years ago. The chilis are so much more flavorful than what comes from California.

For those unfamiliar, absolutely try the green chili cheesburger. Blakes is tasty fast food, I always stop at the one in Gallup on our way to/from Durango. Most restaurants will have some offering, and yes, we did try the Burger Stand on our last visit to Taos - recommended.

My personal favorite New Mexican dish is the "stacked" enchiladas with blue corn tortillas, topped with a fried egg and smothered with green chili. Carne Adovada close second. Posole is wonderful too!

Have fun!

that looks delicious. Where did you get it?

I'm pretty sure that was at Orlando's.

Oh yeah, if you are a garbage gut like me - Frito Pie! Anthony Bourdain's description was accurate.

One other touristy thing, (not sure if recommended in the winter though), our visit to the Taos Pueblo was fascinating.

Incase anyone is driving to the ski valley and would prefer to boot up/take breaks at your car instead of at the base, here’s the parking situation:

Yellow - where they’d like you to park and take the shuttle. It is an uphill walk to the base.
Green - HOV parking (free). I think 3 or more people in vehicle.
Purple - hotel and condo parking
Pink - Family parking (free)
Red - Paid parking
Blue - IMO, the closest and easiest walk to base without taking the shuttle.
