Otherwise, the snow would probably be decent.

You can skip the Headwall and take a stroll down Nivis Walk to Launch Pad.

Fun closing day today with three of my kids. Small snafu with Ikon turning off access to Killingron starting on 5/31 which sounds like was a surprise to Killington as well. They didn’t know until the first Ikon passes were scanned for the day. Not happy but didn’t want to disappoint the kids so we made our $106 donation!?! Great season considering cards we were dealt this winter and bravo to Killington for reaching 6/1.

But major fail by Alterra/Ikon as we’ve been milking our Killington days to get closing day in and there were 100s in same boat (from what I heard).

June 1st Killington Report Closing Day

We camped overnight at the resort moving to our access road party spot at 0420 for first light.

Folks lined up their skis two by two in a line the extended outta sight around the K1 lodge. IKON closed out the use of their passes at Killington on May 31st so folks needed to buy $25 ticket if they wanted to ski. Caught many by surprise. Seasoned veterans came prepared.

Snow coverage was fairly good for first tuns.
Line was too long to get another run right away.
We volunteered to sweep the mountain with 87 others picking up trash. The resort rewarded the crew with a free Chef prepared lunch and raffle.

Skiing was pretty good even at the end of the day. The World Cup ice base holds up amazing well.

I avoid yellow snow no matter what, but there's no avoiding that brown snow. Rock ski conditions. Looks like a lot of fun.

How long did you stay last year? That was Memorial day I saw you, or another May day?

Last year I only made it for one day on the glacier, the day I skied a run or two with you. I skied till 2-3 pm, had a cold one and then headed home. Sampled some delicious maple sugar soft serve Ice Cream at a store near the Quechee Gorge on the way home.

Didn't make it there this year, disappointed, but had a medical issue to deal with that was the priority. Just launched the boat, so feeling well and back on track in general. Looking forward to next season, hope to make it up to the women's WC race in Nov.

Ownership change of the resort has been the hot local topic this week. Nothing official yet but word on the street is a large event Monday at the K1 lodge is planned. Official announcement should be soon assuming that deal happens. Private group that is not Epic or Iconic hopes to be the winner.

Time to kick off the new season with new resort owners as Powdr turns over the reins. Best Wishes to our new independent owner group. Hoping for some October turns but planning on early November ones.
