Whoa .... totally missed that moment on Saturday - checked at 8:30 just after they started loading the chair and wondered why there was no one on the snow, then checked back around 1 and thought, "that's not too bad". Hence my previous post which was not sarcastic, but I appreciate your interpreting that way!

Looked like that middle section of Broadway where riders from chair 6 merges in was the thickest. Also where the crazy fast boarders showed up. Then it loosened back up after the riders veered over to the features.
That looks no where near as crowded as the short video MountainMonster linked to. (And really no worse than a busy weekend around here.) I still have a lot of doubts that the super crowded clip is real.
Yeah..this video looks fine. No issue with this. The key with Mammoth though is getting a few other areas of the mountain and it really spreads it out quickly. A bit more snow in the next few weeks and it should be great.
the first clip is earlier in the day, look at the shadows of the second clip and the lack of them in the first. I don't doubt this at all. Also, the WROD is wider than the run in July when I skied that mess. I want a piece of that NOW!

It looks like what I saw on Saturday when I popped on to check the web cams. First day at Mammoth gets pretty crazy, and this year it was a holiday, so it looks about right to me.
I wish, I'm still far out from any trips that far north and there's not much shaking at Big Bear that I can see other than rain

Mammoth crew...I'm booked for the Jan 1-6th...that will be my with my wife and boys. I will like solo trip up in December (before the Holidays) once we get some solid snowfall. Putting a marker on the calendar for those who will be there after New Years so we can get some of us making turns together.
