What toe pattern does the new Strive have? I would assume Warden 11 or Warden 13 and not STH.

There's so much good information here I feel guilty asking for more; but I'm wondering about heel elasticity. The Strive 14 product page boasts about "an unrivaled 47mm of elasticity"— but I think they only mean toe elasticity. Is there a way to find out/publish figures on toe and heel elasticity?

On a technical side note, I know why elasticity is important to prevent pre-release, but I'm wondering if having more toe elasticity or more heel elasticity is more important. Am I going to feel like I'm missing out on my heel elasticity if I move from the Pivot 14 to the Strive 14? I've actually already decided to make that move, but this is the tradeoff I'm thinking about the most.

Yes, the toe elasticity is 43mm and the heel is 16mm.

I like elasticity in toe and heel. Both the Strive and Pivot have a significant amount of travel and honestly I wouldn't change from to the other based just on a few mm of travel numbers.

What a great compilation of important specs all in one place. Any questions about any of these should link here.

So should I get a Warden 13 or new Strive 14 bindings on new 88 wide skis? Have liked both the Warden and STH 2 13 in the past.

If I am reading this correctly the warden and the strive have the same stack height. i am assuming it if the lower center of gravity that makes the strive feel like you are lower. Is that correct?

Thanks, I saw that, chart is a little confusing, stand height appears to be 19mm on all of the bindings and the graph reference the COG.

Yes the lighter weight and sugnificant lower Center of Gravity (COG) is what differs the Strive from the Sth2 and the longitudinally spring which allows more elasticity differs it from the Warden.

Sorry maybe I’m an idiot but if your boot sole is standing 19mm above the ski surface in each binding, isn’t the COG the same for each? I’m not following how your centre of gravity differs when you’re being held an identical height from the ski. Can anyone explain?

Pk wait got it. There’s no change to the skiers centre of mass. It’s the same. It’s a change to the COM of the binding itself.

i think it’s the bindings COG, not anything else. @Philpug can you shed more light on this? I can’t get the video to load.

Thanks yes that seems to be the case.

My gut feel is this is very much an incremental change. I doubt frankly as an average Joe advanced recreational skier I‘d notice the difference. I’d be thinking I’d notice the weight reduction far more than a small change in COM for the binding. But the proof will be in the pudding.

About as much as Joe, the average skier is going to notice the rotational weight or short mount distance of a Pivot or the fast return to center of a lateral spring Royal binding or the Freeflex of a Tyrolia. These are attributes that are subtle that you might not notice until you switch away from it.

@BMC - For better or worse I found myself installing the same binding on all our skis. I think it’s really just a mental thing, but I like the consistency in feel.

The big difference between the Strive and the Warden seems to be in the demo binding heights: the Strive demo is at the same height as the fixed Strive that most folks would end up with, while the Warden demo is higher than the fixed, meaning that when you demo things won't necessarily feel the same as what you end up with if you buy.
