I have a pair of 2020 Head Supershape i.Rally with the PRD 12 system bindings. Are the protector bindings compatible with the existing rails?

is there a comparison of the kneebinding to the protector
I've seen a friend's KneeBinding and read here about the Protector. The KneeBinding (Carbon model) is lighter, has adjustable delta, and the heel releases laterally only one direction, because the hip rotation is less when rotated internally vs. externally. The Protector heel releases laterally both directions, and might be found for a lower price.

PRD 12 GW - Is that the same binding that is used as the system binding on the Kästle MX83? And possible also the system binding on the old Laser AX?
The Kästle binding looks like the Tyrolia AM12GW. Stöckli has used Salomon bindings for years.

Is this a new Delta mod for 2023? I recall in the past that the 11 had a different Delta than the 12 and 13.

@Philpug ,

I noticed Protector Attack 11 & 13 MN Demo Adjustment range: 259-382 mm & 259-382 mm

Question: what is the BSL adjustment range of the non-demo (standard) Protector PR & Protector Attack bindings?

What is the difference between the Protector Attack and Protector Attack Demo? I thought the Protector was only available mounted on a plate, is a flat mount version now available?

Is the hole pattern for the Attack 14 Demo the same as the Attack 14 GW

No such luck on the flat mount, @Philpug says it's being talked about. My guess, maybe we'll see it in the '24/'25 line
However for '23/'24 Tyrolia will be adding Protector SLR to the line up:

Protector SLR stand height is 28mm
if it is anything like the non-protector SLR 10 GW 28mm rear stand height 26mm toe stand height = 2mm drop it'll be worth waiting for, more so for wider skis

FWIW I am in a 25.5 boot, (could possibly do 24.5 with boot fitter work), at that size with the current Protector PR 11/13 33.5mm heel 28mm toe stack, I'd think a 5.5mm drop would be more noticeable for me than a guy in a 28.5 boot. I'm used to 19mm heel/18mm toe 1mm drop Look Pivot.

For those reason's and assuming @Philpug's Protector SLR 28mm heel stack is correct, I plan to wait 'till '23/'24 for the SLR Protector.

Thanks. are both toe and heel different or is one of the two the same.
Toe is different and the because the demo is a "system" mount distance is also different

Because this technology is now available, outside of some skiing type (racing maybe?) and non compatible skis, is there any other reason not to get these kinds of bindings? It seems to my layman understanding that this makes the current standard bindings somewhat obsolete?

Maybe just stack height. On a wider ski, you want to be as close to the deck as possible.

How would you define wider? In mm.
