The Atomic Redster Q7 is the little value driven brother to the very good Redster Q9.8. While the Q7 doesn’t have the high power performance of the Q9.8, it will be a great option for those looking for a less expensive for say, the mid Atlantic states, or even one that might be a bridge ski for a progressing skier. The shape of the Q7 works very well in a mix of conditions, but I would say it’s still a bit hard snow biased.

The Redster Q7 achieves its competitive price point by integrating the Revoshock C damping verses the Revoshock S that the Q9.8 and the race skis have along with the Dualcap sidewalls verses the Q9.8’s Ultrawall. These changes will not effect 80% of the skiers who are looking for skis in this price point and the money that is saved can be put towards a better boot.
  • Insider tip: If you are in-between sizes, err to the shorter of the two.
  • One thing I would change: Why is it with the boring graphics this year? Again, a Redster should have some RED in it.
