Just wanted to point out that with a 24" report this morning, Palisades has reported 96" (8 feet) of snow in the last 4 days (Alpine Meadows, "only" 91"). With a bit more likely reported tomorrow and Wednesday. Crazy.

Didn't actually ski that deep at Alpine Meadows today... really consolidated coverage actually. I can't imagine what was exposed before all the snow came in. (I mean, I can, because I've been there before in different conditions, but... you know... it's just an expression. :P )
Oh, I double ejected twice on the same run, burying at least one of my skis each time. Trying to get back up on my feet and clicked in to my skis was a challenge. It was easily 5 feet of snow.

I had trouble getting up once with my arm post-holing... so yeah, soft spots, but I didn't see anyone sinking very deep anywhere while skiing.

Watching "body language" from the still pictures it looks like the surface is very interesting to manage, hard wind buff on top of bottomless etc., glad the visibility seems ok

Nice day at Rose today! Started with a crusty, wind-slabby run that looked better than it skied. But everything was better after that.

Finished the day with a few nice tree runs too which was great! Pics to come.

@David Chaus — I single ejected today in some thick slop. Rear of ski jammed in snow like a knife. Much easier to recover today.

interesting thing is that it was a front release, rear still engaged. I guess that shows it works.

I had a great day today at Alpine. I connected with Alexis and his girlfriend Deborah from Quebec (not sure of their screen names). Wind buffed pow was amazing. I started in the Summit line, but bailed to TLC as soon as I heard there was a patrol hold on Summit. Gave a bit of Sherwood a try, but it was wind-scoured so I turned hard left and went to Lakeview. Did a couple laps, then headed to Outer Outer. I then connected with Alexis and Deborah and took them to Outer Outer again. So fun getting great pow laps with lake views. Keeping in the Lakeview theme, we headed the other way off the chair and skied Field of Dreams to AM road for some more amazing soft pow. What a day! Here are pics to prove it happened. I'm in dusty blue with an orange helmet, Alexis in blue jacket and Deb in red. IMG_0355.jpeg IMG_8524.jpeg IMG_8538.jpeg IMG_8559.jpeg IMG_8571.jpeg IMG_8596.jpeg

It's been about 10 years since the last time I had to cross my poles in an X to avoid post holing my arms trying to get back up. I was honestly a little bit scared that time..
