Bessers and other toe ball plates were terrible for bumps and jumps.. even the slightest back seat landing or recovery wasn't possible because the they'd let go... unless you had then cranked up way too high.
That said, this design would probably do well on a comeback because they would totally release during those backward twisting falls that shred ACLs. This would be a legit competitor to the Knee Binding and Howell designs that cost big bucks.
One of the shops I worked in used the Besser for a Demo binding on our Demo skis. I do remember jumping out of them coming off the top of a bump but that only happened once. Also the adult glass model was very light weight and I am surprised was not paired with the lighter boots and skis.
