These Dachstein V4s were the first boots that fit my foot with very little modification. There were lots of adjustments including a feature on the back to control flex/forward lean and release the boot while standing. These fit into my salmon colored VR27 Geants with the pink Geze bindings. They are very heavy.

Had a pair of Dachstein V5 with foam liners around 1988. Wonderful fit and a bit loud.

Jackson Hole. March 1988, Dachstein V5, Volkl P9 RS 205. Fantastic combo.

Found a clearer shot of the V5 boot.

Crystal Mountain, Feb, 1990. Dachstein V5, Rossignol 4S 200 cm.

My Dachstein V5 with the foam liner fitted really well. However, it has durability issues. Went through five (05) left and three (03) right shells in three (03) seasons. It gotten to be a routine for me to walk into the boot shop with just the cracked shell (liner removed) and the boot fitter would reach up onto the shelf, pull down a new pair of boot, take out the liner and toss me the new shell in exchange for the old shell. The entire transaction was done without a word spoken. :eek:gcool

A good shop is priceless.
