Gentlemen and all ...

I skied the above Fisher Attak these last few days ... as you see them ...
Very hard surface bordering on a junior hockey rink after three period . You know , all the white stuff that is ice pellets ...
Little snow this year in the region !

The Fisher ( 195 cm ) are 10 cm to 15 cm shorter than the skis I usually use ... 30 cm on that kind of surface .
I pushed them like there was no tomorrow , speeding as fast I usual .

I swear these Fisher are one of the best pair of skis I own or skied !
They have a snap like you would not believe . They gave back a lot of power after each turn , same as the Yamaha Paramount Custom that I skied this evening .

If only I could get a pair at 215 !

Don't throw out your old skis .....

70 centimeters of snow where I ski during the weekend .
2 skiers with me... but two busload of ''lugeurs'' ... it is a luge hill , 2.5 kms trails for luge .
We go up by bus ...
For the Thomases in the room , I used my Fisher Attak ( 1974 ) and Tyrolia 360 half of the day , in powder .
I survived : nothing broken , nothing lost .
Am I lucky ?
Consider that I ski 90% of the time with pre-1995 skis and bindings ... 5 days a week ...

It was so much fun ! A rare happening , so much snow , here ...

My first skis were 190 Fischer C4 Catapults. They were some of the first skis to be seen on the slopes with Fluorescent Orange stripes. White/Orange/Blue.
Later I had the Black/Green/White C4 Cut 66 skis in 195. Both pairs were awesome, the Cut 66’s had a nice side cut and flex.
I found a pair of the Green “Free” skis in 180.
My newest Fischer ski purchase off eBay hasn’t arrived yet... I don’t want to jinx it, but if I say they are the Holy Grail- some of you might know exactly which Fischer ski I am talking about!
To be continued. . .

Anyone have a pic of the Fischers with the top-plate that stretched out onto the shovel and back onto the tails?

Would have been in the early-mid-90s, a semi-race/race model.

The underside of the plate looked like the fins on an aluminum heat sink.

I posted the 76 Franz Klammer run twice here on the Fischer thread- oops.

@Moose32, you have some inside info on that broadcast. What else can you tell us?
:)
Most important ski run of all time. Love it. No more inside information than the video below outlines. It was never shown live in US (even USA vs USSR hockey in 1980 wasn’t, as most know) due to time zones and wanting to show it in prime time. Furthermore, it was recorded by ABC, several hours after the event. Frank below gives the inside scoop - I have nothing more.

I don't know if it is the most important of all time, but it was a great run. Although that would be a good thread to start.
