Received those at noon ...
Took the pictures ...
Cleaned them ...
Sharpen them ...
Adjusted the bindings ...

And went skiing on them at 4:00 , going down as fast as I could on an icy slope .

A blast ... one of the best pairs of my little collection !!!
They held like crazy on the ice View attachment 86308 View attachment 86309 View attachment 86310 View attachment 86311 View attachment 86312 View attachment 86313 View attachment 86314 .
Some purists will say that I do not have the Tyrolia Calgary ... I will find them one of these days ... but I will never drill these to replace the Salomon .

Straight skis are so much fun !! 747 was a magical binding, I hope the heel holds up.

They are great looking skis I remember selling that model and yes I did try to convince the customer to purchase the matching bindings. They were not generally available and when we couldn't get any more I couldn't push customers in that direction any longer. If you did find a pair of the Tyrolia there is no guarantee that the plastic would be much better than the Salomon but the bindings might still work because of the metal under the plastic. Anyway enjoy the skis they were a fine product.

Nooooo. those need to have the Calgary bindings. To put anything other than that is sacrilege.

They will be a difficult find. Those of us that have them are generally going to hold on to this limited run of bindings.

This along with the neon red 360 are two Tyrolias that are extra special.

IIRC, this is the last "Official Olympic Ski/Binding" that was offered

The 360's that you are talking about had the neon red markings but didn't they have a white background?

No, there was a "shop" binding that was all neon. I said red, really more florescent orange.

I was working in a shop when the 360 was the top Tyrolia and yes it was more of a florescent orange than red but I remember a white background. If you have any pictures of an all florescent orange I would love to see them.

Found a few streets from my house ...

Head Radial Racing CR SLE 205

This seems to be a season for the Head and not for the Hart !! ;)

As you can see they are kind of new and the colors ...
I love the colors !
It is culture I think ... or maybe not ... I have always be extravagant about colors .

These fit on my boots like a charm and I would be skiing on them now if it was not raining .
Damn rain ... even more tomorrow and the , Wednesday , it will be -2F and the slopes will be like skating rinks .

Another pair of skis that will not end in the trash , buried forever , crushed and forgotten .
Now what is waiting for me out there ?
I am sorely missing an Hagan and a RD ... longuest possible ..
And what would be the best powder ski from the '70+'80+'90 ?
I had some OLIN MK 3 S that were wonderful and the PRE 1200 ... but what would be your choice , straight and long ??

Head manufactured the 320 in an east coast ski for hard snow and west coast ski for soft snow so the west coast version would be my choice for a 60's or 70's powder ski. In the 80 I remember that Kastle had a soft snow ski but for the life of me I can't remember the model.

Here is my current head collection (minus a JK pair). The most interesting piece I have are these Head shortskis. They appear to be early 60s/late 50s heads. They were also USAF owned. Also im wondering what is the difference between the blue base 240s and the black base pair?

Head Shortski was an absolute trip in their day. To my memory they were the first well built short ski. Coming off of a pair of 210's and stepping on to these was really an experience, kind of like putting on a pair of clown shoes.

Like the Rossi, early 90's. No real value.

I figured about '92 or '93. I didn't even realize I had these, and assume they belonged to my uncle (my aunt and uncle were always giving my then-wife and I their old skis). I think I may try to adjust the bindings for my boots and give them a go. I still have my old pair of Head Racing CR Radial SC skis that I bought new around '87 and used for 10 years or so; I loved those skis.

I loved the color and the handling so much that , last week , when I saw them on sale in Montreal , I could not resist !
So I bought a second pair of HEAD ... identical as the previous one ...
That will burn the slopes as soon as there will be some snow and no virus . As you can see , they are kind of new with a perfect base .
Call me dumb ...
By the way , the color is named ''zinzolin '' ...

Now , just wait for my next acquisition !
