Hi guys. Apologies for just dropping this question in here but struggling to know exactly where I should post it! Anyway here goes. Did LOOK ever do a black coloured version of the Nevada / GrandPrix binding? I know they did red and teal blue versions and for some reason I think they did a black but not 100%. Thanks.
I was in the business for the 18 years starting in the fall of 1971 and I never saw a black version.

Any idea what year these look Nevada bindings are? I think the blue ones are 70/71? The ess branded ones I’m not sure?

1971-1972 season was my first year selling Look bindings and I don't remember any blue ones they might be newer, my guess would be 1974-1975 season. I don't know about the ess ones but if the heel centering device is original and not added later I think they started in 1969.

is there any chance you are remembering the N77 from 1978 ?

Very Nevada/GrandPrix-ish
( actually the next generation. A fine binding.
in excellent condition, I'd ski em today )

Is this the joke thread? $499.97
When products are sold with the price ending in .97 it usually means that the store is no longer carrying this item.:)
I think the store stopped carrying them around 1970 : )

First time I have come across 3-D din 8-18 ZR S. The S on the binding match the S on the ski. Is this some sort of special edition? And the brakes have the longer modern prongs. Late 90s? Must be close to the last of the 3D series.

I mentioned to a friend who lives a little closer to the $5 ski barrels that i was looking for some good, functional, classic metal look N17 bindings.
He came up with these in a couple scores. (Loose set already removed from old short, delaminated pair of freestyle skis)

The Look toe on the Head skis is a Look I toe and requires you notch the toe of the boot. I probably would not ski them. The toe on the Yamaha skis are Look II toe and I would ski them no problem.

Until last year, all my boots got notched including the new pair bought in 2021. In order to fit the Marker simplex toes used until i stopped skiing in the late 80's/early 90's.
Even those Look toes are a whole lot more compliant than the Markers, & a nice step up.

That said, if i decide to try the Head 800's, i'll likely swap on the toes from the loose bagged set below the skis & forego notching the most recent pair of boots from this past season.

The ski barrels shouldn't be played out yet - they are constantly refilled as people clean out estates or move south. :)

The Yamahas are probably doomed to a fence or deck chair build.
Though some say that is appropriate for the Killy 800's, too.

The first ski shop I worked 1971-1972 season sold those Killy 800 and if I remember correctly they were a very light ski. Some people tried to use them for jumping off bumps and lips, that was not the best idea because they didn't hold up to that kind of stuff. We had a few come back with the tips coming apart.
