Ski Saver Petersen Collection.jpg

I think SKI SAVER's demise started with cap skis (didn't wrap well to the rounded edges), and scuff resistant top sheets pretty much did the company in. At least I don't think they are still in business.

Skis needed a flat top surface with square edges for SKI SAVER to work well.

Here is a lock by the infamous SKI TOTE - I bought something on eBay and the seller threw in this lock.

I have some more locks I need to hunt up...never really used any of them.

Now I have a locker at the base of Breck so I have no need for a ski lock, unless of course I visit other ski areas.

I don't really think the above lock would slow down a thief too much. Seems like you could cut the thin cable with a pair of scissors and a little effort. Probably just enough of a pain that the thief would move on to an easier target.

Jet Stix. I have never used them but my blue and yellow PKs had factory bolt on jet stix. I would love to see/have a pair of those now. The black things in the foreground are wedges to increase forward lean.

Don't know how many years it ran, must be around 1972. I know a guy who attended and he was very impressed. Poster says K2 skis with Spademans available for demo.

Found an autographed copy of "Come Ski With Me", not to me unfortunately. "Ski Fifty Years In North America" is a fantastic book printed in 1987. Tons of great pictures and touches on all the history in general. Picked it up in a goodwill store for $5. I have managed to find a few of these even at $15 is a bargain. Cheap Christmas presents and well received :).

I have that SKI Book as well -- bought it new quite a few years ago. You are right - it is a great book!

Aris Rope Tow Gloves Petersen Collection.jpg

"Mine were just like the ones in Dave's photo above but may have had a fatter adjustable strap across the back of the wrist to cinch them tight to the gloves." crgildart

Mine were like the Australian nutcrackers with a cord that attached to a belt.

Greg Athans, Scott Brooksbank and Floyd Wilkie on the covers. Note on the back cover of Mann's book, winner of the "Most Unique Run" category in Aspen in 1971.

My Hertel Hot Waxer -

Mine is a lot more beat up than yours. One of the handle broke off a long time ago. Bought it sometime in the mid 80's.
A lot of those little wax pellets went thru that machine. Still have about a quarter left in my last two gallon bucket.
Stop using it about 10 years ago when the skis got too fat.
