I was more a Marker MRR fan is era, but I was a but 727/727E fan prior.

I skied the silver/red/blue ST...I really liked that ski. It was a great bump ski back east.

I liked the MMR's as well, but they were pretty hard to find where I lived and were probably a bit too much for me back then. Cool look - they need to come out with an updated version that more or less looks the same

I am not sure what was on the topskin but I can assure you it was not a production model. @Doug Briggs, were you competing at that point?

Let's face it none of the skis that the competitors are on are part of the production line. The manufacturers have race shops that produce small runs of skis for racers. That is how they tweak skis for the racers and some of the improvements reach the standard production line.

No, I didn't think it was......the ones I saw were in a pro shop; I distinctly remember them have a flatter, smoother tip, they were THICK underfoot, seemed a little wider than the average race ski of the day and I think they said DH right above the front binding. I thought Rossignol might have a list of all models for each yr, but I haven't been able to find one, and even if I did, if it wasn't a production ski it probably wouldn't be listed

Hello, all. I am trying to determine the year on these skis. I inherited them from a fellow skier who passed away almost 20 years ago, so I am thinking they are mid-90s?

I didn't expect them to be valuable, though they did come in handy after the heel piece came apart on the Tyrolia 480 bindings on my previous skis (I knew nothing about the recall). ;)

At least Tyrolia had a recall, with all the Salomon exploding heels I had, so disappointed they didn't have a recall. It will be a long long time before I purchase a Salomon binding ever again.

For your “Skis you don’t ever see”. These are a pair that I’m pretty sure little, if anyone has ever seen them! They came straight from the France factory!!! Painted to look exactly like a ROSSIGNOL Dualtech EX GS ski! In reality it is a Purple ROSSIGNOL 7G GS RACESTOCK SKI! This ski was slated to go directly to the World Cup, and possibly the Olympics. Wanted the public to think that everyone racing was on the new technology and skis! When in reality, just like today, don’t always believe what you see. Look at the sidewalk. The dualtech was a 1/2 cap, 1/2 vertical sidewalk. This is 100% vertical, and, the color scheme absolutely does not match!
These showed up on my doorstep around 94ish when I was racing for UNR, and skiing for ROSSIGNOL. I didn’t know why these arrived at my house, but, I knew what I had, and I have held them close ever since!
We thought you might enjoy.

BTW, ROSSIGNOL COMPLETELY denies that they EVER RE-painted ANY skis!!!

Cebe goggles. Used very little if at all. Has a nice chamois like material over the foam. No scratches on the lens.

That was a great ski, fiberglass sandwich construction with a SL side cut, one of the top SL skis at that time. I sold a ton of them, they practically sold themselves. That one looks a little short, what length is it? The Look binding is a good match for the ski although that ski brake facing forward was not my favorite.

Hey thanks for the info. 195. Got some poles with. The amount of camber is outrageous
Ski + poles: 10$
Future acl injuries : 1 yr rehab
For the rest: the joint account

I don't recognize the poles but the grips look like they are a later addition. That saber grip didn't come around until a few years later than the ST 650. By the time those grips came out Rossignol changed from the ST 650 to the ST Comp. and I think it had a black and orange color graphic. It may have been the same ski inside but they do change things to try to increase sales. As the model progressed it did get a little softer and a foam core replaced the wood core. Your ST 650 is a stiff SL racing ski of the early 1970's Enjoy them, put a good tune on them check the bindings and ski them, I would.

Post a pic of the serial number and I'll get you the construction/type of ski you have. There were a handful of different construction types

Hello at all,
I‘m new here since a few minutes.
@Wolfski I saw you have good knowledge about Rossignol. Can you also explain the numbers of this Ski on the picture to me?
I‘m skiing Rossignol since a few years and I was always curious what they are meaning.
Thanks for your help in advance!

Welcome, race and most retail skis from the 80's I can help with but the newer models I'm not familiar enough to help
Typically these numbers were serial number, year made, type and which plant made for tracking
Race skis as most know are constructed totally differently from their retail cousins while retail skis are identified by their top-skin or in some cases a different top-skin designed for mass merchants to sell through their distribution
