Hello at all,
I‘m new here since a few minutes.
@Wolfski I saw you have good knowledge about Rossignol. Can you also explain the numbers of this Ski on the picture to me?
I‘m skiing Rossignol since a few years and I was always curious what they are meaning.
Thanks for your help in advance!
I have never seen numbers cut into the P-Tex base of a ski only on the side wall of a ski. I am not sure a race ski would want to have any additional friction on the base so not sure what is going on with those skis. Maybe a warranty replacement and that was the number of the original ski?

Welcome, race and most retail skis from the 80's I can help with but the newer models I'm not familiar enough to help
Typically these numbers were serial number, year made, type and which plant made for tracking
Race skis as most know are constructed totally differently from their retail cousins while retail skis are identified by their top-skin or in some cases a different top-skin designed for mass merchants to sell through their distribution

Thanks for the fast reply @Wolfski
Anyway, some interesting information you gave me.
Maybe there‘s another forum-user who can help me on this?

Only thing I know, these skis are out of WC/EC.
But I have several of them, all with numbers on the P-Tex on the tail.

Rossignol Shadow with s444s. They are a 160 length

Anyone know about these? Is Shadow a place or a name like Spider?

It looks like a "special make up" ski. Shops would order say 500 pair of skis in assorted lengths from a company like Rossignol and the company would make a ski with has Rossignol name but a model name not in the regular product line. The shop would use these as a package ski or sometimes their rental ski. They were at best an intermediate level ski. Rossignol used a two different core designs one was an all wood core and the other was a wood and foam core combination, the foam was in the middle with wood on each side. The foam and wood core was the better performance ski.

Love the old pics and the collections of old Rossi’s. Good to see people still skiing them too. I’ve got a few pairs and I ski them quite often! The hardest part is finding good leather boots to use on the old wooden skis. My old 41’s need a restoration before I can ski them but I’ve got other pairs I use at the moment.
The vipers are 201, 4g’s 210, 41’s are 205 and the legendary 7s’ are 201cm

The suspension on the 7S actually worked better on a GS ski ... but not as good as that Derbyflex ;)

Rossignol is not my flavor, but I can’t throw a dang thing away. Anyone need the starter kit? I will be keeping the turntable bindings, but most of the skis are marked with the BSL they are mounted for. All machine tuned and storage waxed.
Such nice skis, the only one I don't recognize is the Rossi Eagle. What is the story behind that ski?

Something about 2" camber and "Soft" doesn't compute..
Sometimes if a ski is hung upside down supported only at the tip and tail for a long period of time gravity can spring a ski. That can cause the camber to increase some on each ski and when you put the two together it adds up to 2 inches.

Hi guys, does anyone know what length the 4s Kevlar in that turquoise colour came in? Looking for a slalom length in about a 203-205
