Every wonder what that 3S looks like inside?
That is an early 3S, note the "Test" in the graphics. The next generation went to wood. It is always cool to see cores.

Can anyone please post pictures of the SX series boots internal fit systems. Curious as to how it worked.
Thanks.

Salomon 40 Bindings. Never seen these before. Looks to me like a 444ish Toe piece and a pre 502 Heel. No print add from @Dave Petersen that I can find in this section. I'm guessing it would be 1968ish timeline as they are on my newly acquired hart javelin skis and would appear to be the original mount.

Does anyone have more info on these?

Here are little more in the line up of the Salomon early ski bindings. Toe and Heel!
MACK.
The 40 is smaller than 404 and the heel is almost the same as the 5oo black Salomon. Stamped metal.
The middle is a Junior set.

My first set of bindings at age 17 had toes like the ones in the bottom row of post 132 and the Junior heels from post 135. It didn't take much to blow out of those toes. They had no elasticity at all.

Great stuff Mack!
I remember the 500 and then the 502, and the 444 of course but do not recall seeing the 40 or 404 on the mountain in the late 60's.
Of course I might just not have paid them much attention as the Look Nevada/Grand Prix was what really had my eye back then (and still does!)

I't like to see you a little more consistant with your mounting ;) . Orange 555S's are one of the few Pre DIN bindings on my wish list.

My next project but I can't upload pictures for a few days. Looking for yellow and black Salomon 900S with the yellow Salomon logo in the black. Maybe @Philpug has a spare pair or someone else out there? @Mack ?

Thanks. I saw the bindings on skis on England ebay. I wonder if they may be a Euro model.

So, this is what I am looking for in decent to excellent condition. Likely carbon and plastic still would not mind checking them out.
