With the thin snowpack and spring-like freeze/thaw cycles, I am thinking about carrying a pocket edger on the hill.
Any favorites?

The FK SKS Edge Trick deburring tool works well. It removes raised burrs and is small. It isn't the tool to sharpen the edge, but it's great for cleaning burrs on the hill, light, very compact. It is adjustable for the angle. $24 with a 30 mm diamond file. $20 with a stone.

This is the one I was looking for. I ordered it, based upon the recommendation of a trainer/examiner.

I’ve hit plenty of rocks at Big Sky but I never felt the need for sharp edges there.
I sharpen almost everyday (in the East) but never mid-day. I carry a small aluminum oxide stone to smooth out rock hits, but in reality I just swap right to left if I damage an edge. YMMV.

I usually bring a small stone along for quick tune ups. It's got a course side and a fine side.. can't even find it again online to even know what it's called. I suspect that it may just be a renamed knife sharpening stone.
