Unless there is a lot of last minute bidding... this one looks like it could be a steal.

These were extremely over bult and can last forever.

That's a GREAT "bang for the buck" car, without question, @Philpug. I have a couple of friends, brothers, who bought the 400 series sedans for themselves as company cars when they first came out. They would sell them when it made sense, and they had a long list of friends who wanted to buy them at that point. And THEN, those cars often were passed on to kids, etc. when they hit 2-300K miles. And, I know a few that are curing along at 500K+. I also followed "The Million Mile Lexus" online.
Last forever is spot on.

Now in related discussion, I JUST MISSED a quiet private sale. An acquaintance who has to give up driving. This car was just a summer car, never drive in the rain, always garaged. Lexus 430SC, 2002. I would not normally be interested, but it has 22K miles, and is mint. Another friend jumped on it, and the seller "does not need the money", wanted it to be used and loved. I bet the selling price was less that $10K. Not really my kind of car, but it's a real luxury top down cruiser. Silver over red leather. And, a car that could last.....forever.

Yep....this could be a great deal.

Interesting, to me anyway, that the current owner bought it in June, has done some refresh to it (replaced timing belt, fluid flushes, brakes, etc.) and is now selling it. A flipper? Or just someone who decided they don't like it after all?

^^^ Wow that is a pic from the Pugski archives.
Teal & Pink , a match made in heaven !

I had some teal K2 TRC skis with I think some matching teal Tyrolia 460 bindings way back when :thumb:

Wow... looking through some older auctions, another 300SL was bid to $1,400,000 but was not a sale:

And this one was bid to $1,100,000 and didn't sell:

And this one sold for $1,234,567 in 2019:

Also a few roadsters north of $700K.

EDIT: Just figured out how to find the highest bids on BaT... The highest is for a LaFerrari at $3.125M. The $1.4M Gullwing linked above is the second highest.

Not familiar with those... but it looks a bit like a baby Daytona.
I haven't seen one either...it is rear engine rear drive based off of the 411 (just look at the headlights). What a cool resto-mod it would be to drop a 911 motor in it or Subie WRX motor!

I rememebr looking at one similar to that when I was about 20...would have ran me $1500.
Love those cars. I had a chance to buy on too, about 20 years ago for 55k. It was a total resto. I would have flipped it though.
