I was also concerned about the backing, but those concerns were unfounded once I received the product. It is quite thin and once it was glued to the puck, there is no "give" in the tool. When I glued them up, I clamped all the pucks together tightly between some aluminum bar stock and left them to dry overnight.
Really good to know, going to give this a try!

It looks like your link for the aluminum discs disappeared.

What kind of adhesive did you use to secure the sheet to the disc?

I used a silicone-based adhesive so that once the sheet needs to be replaced, it should be able to be peeled off the puck.

I used a pair of Fiskars utility scissors (think big bad scissors on steroids ;) ).

@Noodler, I purchased pucks and diamond paper last spring. So far I have tuned 15 pairs of skis with them and I'm pretty happy with the ease and performance. Thanks for bringing this up.
Noodler has not made his annual autumnal appearance yet, I don't think. "Last seen May 22"
