Canada bushfires & a CME on the sun.

Interesting combo huh?

Here in BC we are in the grip of some massive bushfires,..... A 10,000 strong city was totally evacuated last night (Williams Lake)

I normally look up at our ski hill from my front door...... Not today.






On the other side of the house, the smoke has provided the opportunity for an interesting look at the sun.









Upper RH quadrant shows a current CME that is putting on a nice show at night with Auroras (if you can see through the smoke of course)





Normally a shot like that would be impossible without very specialist gear,..... These shots taken on a Nikon D3300 with a Sigma 18-250 lens & no filters.

And we're still under water in Ontario....well at least those of us along the lake. Now of this makes any sense.

Fires seem to be unbelievably off the charts this year. If there was ever a time to reinforce being smart about fire, fireworks, shooting, smoking...etc. Its this season!
