In the PNW it’s been a bit cooler than typical the last month, after a summer with record high temperature. The current forecasts indicate it’ll continue to trend cooler. At my house the overnight low was 37F, and daytime highs mid- to upper 50’s, but trending cooler. Generally speaking, if the daytime high is 50 and below, with precipitation it’ll be snowing in the mountains (at least at 4,000 elevation).

I’m at 450’ elevation; the mountain passes are 3,000’ and 4,000’.

I have always maintained that season long reliable skiing in B.C. starts at around 4,000'asl and it doesn't really matter coast or interior.

I'm in Juneau for a quick trip and the forecast a few days ago was for snow which would have been earlier than usual. However, nothing but rain although the snow level was around 1500 feet yesterday but bumped up a bit today.
