Past Friday - Sunday (3/10-3/13).When were you there? Did you need to rely on snowmobiles much?
We took a snowmobile Friday and Sunday, but both times, super short. Could have skinned up as far as we went in 30 minutes or so.
My daughter was doing Keely’s Backcountry Camp for girls, where they stayed in a remote cabin with 7 girls and 4 female guides.
It was a bitter cold morning (just above zero F/-17C) to be standing in a windy parking lot for an hour getting the girls sorted.
I skied with a guide form Beartooth Powder Guides an one of the other parents.
Before we got there, they had a low snow season, and some warm weather created some poor snow conditions, even some soft crusts.
Friday we skied some great powder on a north facing slope, where it was well preserved. A few tracks, including 2 snowmobile tracks, but the rest was nice and soft.
