Better then the orginal -

- again, that's debateable!

I'm not one to say any music is better than any other music. It's all personal preference.

Also, the thread title is:
"Cover Me: Best cover songs, some better than the original?"

Speaking of Al Green. Here's one of my favorite versions of this song, by him. I played bass on this in a gospel band that covered it too. We played it a little faster but same groove I was the diversity in the band LOL... Bob Marley did it too.

Surprised nobody's gone Dread Zeppelin here yet. I always thought they should have done Freebird., That would make a great reggae song.

This may have been the biggest money maker for Dolly Parton..

Here's another decent version of the Star Spangled Banner..

If you are going to go with a Faith No More cover, you might as well go with what might be the best cover ever:

My favorite cover, Thom York being amazing:

... and his band, covering one of the greats:

I don't like their version of Easy as much as I like their version of War Pigs. Honestly, I like both originals better, but War Pigs?? Nobody else does THAT! I've heard at least a dozen different bands play Easy, some pretty well too..
