Do you throw those on the grill like Tex?
You could, but it's fine for touching them and jail time to killing them. All native animals on Galapagos have more rights than you do. Strangely enough part of the dive briefing was don't hug a shark!? Which begs the question who was the idiot that did and why didn't they get a Darwin award. But you do get fined.

They only thing on the hit list is dogs, pigs, goats and rats. All invasive, non native and harmful to native wildlife.

It was a trip of a lifetime.

I want to avoid them all.
Ok. But if you see me on the ski hill don’t be scared, I promise not to be packing.

You wouldn't know who is armed if they are carrying concealed.

If you are in the backcountry you are not carrying concealed:

1. Concealed carry is excessively difficult with a pack.

2. If you are that paranoid you would want your weapon more accessible than not.

one killed just south of South Lake Tahoe.
They were actually near Georgetown, which is in the Sierra foothills about 50 miles northeast of Sacramento. That’s a popular mountain bike area too. That’s not far from the Auburn State Recreation Area, where a trail runner was killed by a cougar in 1994.

A mountain lion is near the bottom of things one should worry about in the backcountry. Getting lost should be near the top of worries.
