Not sure what's going on with the jacket.. But lounge pants make a killer base or mid layer when staying slopeside. Just roll them up a little under your ski pants.. go ski a couple hours, then kick your boots and ski pants off in the way back in the house and step in to your fuzzy slippers.. Pro slopesiding all the way!

You obviously are more well adjusted than I when it comes to dental care.

@Cyrus Schenck how do you feel about the ethics of facilitating payment in crypto when it is really not difficult for anyone holding fully taxed legitimate crypto to have pre-converted it into $ for a purchase?

The one thing this thread has made clear to me is that there are many members here who understand crypto currency much better than I do.

If Renoun is accepting crypto as payment for skis, will they be able to pay the suppliers and employees with crypto? Or will they have to convert it to cash at market value and pay the suppliers and employees?

Not necessarily a bad thing - means you're unlikely to be trafficking in kiddie porn for starters...

I'm pretty sure that beyond the plain scams there will have been plenty of people and families hurt by blowing life savings and overtrading on margin accounts. Remember for every "I bought this mansion with my crypto profits" brag there are corresponding losers on the other side of the trades.

Maybe I'm naive, but I won't make an assumption that all crypto currency is connected to scandelous trafficking...for starters...

As for people losing their life savings, overtrading on margins and such...you don't need CC to do that. That's a story as old as currency itself.

I tend to be a glass half full kinda gal.
Doesn't mean I'll jump on the CC band wagon, just means that I won't pass judgement just yet, especially since I don't understand it.

How about typing on a phone made in a country that literally locks workers in the factories for days?

How about driving range tokens? I have some of those laying around.
PJ used to have a sign saying he’d consider exchange for Red Sox tickets. Then the year they were terrible that was out. After that year they won the WS, but I wasn’t in the shop that year. Problem is when they yo-yo so much, early resale demand is less even if they’re sold out for the season.

Does anyone accept casino tokens?
Funny. Back the 90's when I was traveling to Hungary for business, one trip I was to Germany, Switzerland and France, on my back home I had a bunch of various coins left over. At the airport, I left them all as a tip. What I noticed at that point is that I had a Chuck E. Cheese token in my briefcase, so I just left that too. I imagine the bartender was pretty befuddled where that came from.

I'm all for optimism (well actually I protect my optimism with a hardened carapace of scepticism in order to be diappointed less by the human race) but ask yourself the question - it might be neat or cool to pay for ordinary goods or services in crypto but why would someone need to, what's wrong with existing global currencies? Why would they be keen to avoid converting the crypto through their own bank account first?

As for education think of the fine art market which I think has been discussed here before

A couple of short articles

Then imagine a world in which gangsters or terrorists or corrupt regimes don't need to even uncover lost treasures or physically move product through freeports to make bank - they can create NFTs or coin and start their own market manipulation, while others who don't want their earnings to have a trail for whatever reason play the game.

I'm not saying that everyone with significant positions in crypto is culpable but they are definitely part of an ecosystem which has plenty of bad actors.

What's with all the talk about gangsters and shady businesses using crypto currency for their illicit trade? But Blockchain maintains a ledger for every transaction. Isn't it like accepting ransom payment with marked notes?

Well possibly but not really as the fuzz are always playing catch up

Note the second article covers a hack kiddy who was caught with the massive heist of $100k
