Some folks really like their bikes!

Makes me think of Robin Williams. Although it was very sad, it was fascinating looking through his collection when it was auctioned off. There were a few "trophy" bikes. But a lot of the collection were clearly just bikes that he loved and were not objectively special or valuable. I could picture him riding them with a smile on his face like in the opening sequence of Mork & Mindy.

Aug 2019 at the Conococheague Creek Aqueduct near Williamsport, PA, mile 100 on a three-day 184 mile ride along the C&O Canal Towpath. With my old Gary Fisher hybrid that I bought used back around 2011.

Another great local annual ride, F2G2 (Fall Foliage Gravel Grinder). This one in western, MA Berkshires. Lots of dirt/gravel/two-track stuff on this one. Oh, and more climbing, lots of climbing!

Not exactly your average pipe cleaner armed pro cyclist!

You'll also note Eric is on his Ritchey built frame and stem for his '84 season, not their standard 7-Eleven team bike.

That is the late great Beryl Burton... Amazing athlete.
Yes indeed! Her list of accomplishments on the bike is pretty damn impressive!(x10)
I was a fan of hers for may years after discovering her by accident. I've had a picture of her up in my bike shop for decades.
Along with Lyne Bessette who is also an amazing athlete!

For New England local CX races, Lyne would often lineup with the 'Killer B's' and race with them as a warmup for her Elite Woman's race later in the day. Not for a place or points or anything but it did show the difference between hard core amateur men and a world class athlete. She would give them one hell of a run for their money every time, often finishing first or top three more often than not. I actually enjoyed these race more than the woman's Elite main event. Her face was either smiling or grimacing with effort from the start to the checkers.

I was just looking for photos of Laura. There are a lot with her on the podium over the years!
