Did SWIX change their whole line, or is CH just out of stock?

I went out online to get some base-prep wax, and figured I'd stock up on warm wax to get to the free shipping threshold.
There is very little CH# wax out there... and the places that have it don't have all the numbers.

I see some PS# wax I'm not familiar with, but I only buy wax sporadically.

I'm gun-shy about changing wax families after the gummy One-Ball-Jay I bought one trip when I brought my iron but forget to bring any wax.

@Philpug you'll be happy to know I wound up getting Toko from racewax. Change is scary!

Yes, the new line is basically:

  • Performance Speed (PS), replaces CH as their hydrocarbon wax
  • High Speed (HS), replaces Low Fluoro LF with a non-fluoro wax
  • Top Speed (TS), replaces High Fluoro HF with a a non-fluoro wax

does ps contain hydrocarbons? so is it a 1:1 replacement?

If all this new stuff works so good why is it that the ski racing authorities are working hard to build a device to detect fluoros?

Maybe it works as well, maybe it doesn't. It's about the perception of fairness as much as it is about actual fairness. But either way, if it's less toxic that seems way better for everyone, so long as there's a neutral playing field. And for non-racers, I'd argue fluoro wax was always a waste of money, and an unnecessary hassle anyways.

Fortunately, I have enough CH3, CH4, and Racewax Universal Fluoro to last me until I hang up my skis for the last time. Always a sucker for Racewax sales. Might have an issue with running out of their green, tho.

For everyday cruising PS is your one stop shop. Right now there are a few research places indicating the step in performance up the scale isn't as dramatic as it used to be... for now.

Mid to end of season I bought some and have been pleasantly surprised at the performance of the PS. How does it perform in different humidities and snow structure, I'm not sure yet. But matching temperatures as usual has given me some pretty slick skis.
