Mid-Atlantic Fire at indoor Big Snow NJ

Unfortunately the only currently open ski area in the US is now closed due to a fire early yesterday morning. I arrived at 9:30am with 15 of my racers for a training session, but we were sent away. Fortunately, no one was there when the fire broke out at 4am.
They are closed for a week as they access the damage and determine what repairs are needed.

I saw an article in the paper but it didn't have any photos. Thanks for sharing the photos. I have been there only one time and was planning to get back, but other things kept coming up. They will be back in operation soon according to the article I read.

The forecast for reopening is 2 October 2021.

If you do go it is a parking deck and deck "A" is closest to the skiing the other decks are for the mall.

Hopefully the damage isn’t too bad, but I can’t really imagine what’s shown in the photos is going to be repaired in just a week.

As of last checking, they are selling tickets starting 10/16. And I think that's optimistic. Imagine the water damage, fire damage, and repairs to whatever mechanicals are misbehaving.

Just so people know...a large group of Ladies that are part of the Ski Diva's had numerous dates booked over the next few weeks to ski Big Snow. So @newboots and few others are up to date on any information concerning this facility. They have tickets and are concerned!!
