Amateur skier, professional lurker. But this is post #8, so I'm making progress.

Burnsville High Class of 82, Buck Hill Freestyle Team 79-82.. Buck Hill Ski School 81-82. I definitely miss having night skiing 10 minutes from my driveway. All those hills are fun!

Flatlander? That would be Illinois.

Where all the cool Midwest people hang out.

The area in which I grew up, the central-west area by Fargo, is pretty flat. And boring. Now that I'm down by the Twin Cities, it's a little more hilly.

Being half Dutch - half Minnesotan, I can say with certainty that Minnesota is not flat
I see "Duluth" is your home; no, that's not flat. It's like a bunch of hills all strung together. But get over by Fargo (yes, it's in ND, but it's something people recognize) and it's like a giant grain-covered pancake.
