Ron Shevock is a beast!!
He have been living in Denmark the past few years, and broke his leg in a race 6 months ago just before he was supposed to return to the US. The broken leg delayed his return but he's back and racing again.

He used to chime in on mtbr forums. Fast as hell! Currently sporting an 11 mile lead, so things look good -- though racing is never over till you cross the line.

In other racing news, a fast guy I've shared a few 100 mile race courses with, Jay Petervary, just won the Tour Divide. Doubly sweet for him after being convincingly in the lead a few years ago, only to watch the second place rider sail past when his alarm clock malfunctioned:

Nice. This sounds like the preparation of someone who intends to finish well! I spent the weekend making sure I can get all my tourist gear on my bike without a seat pack, to allow use of my dropper. Think I got it figured out. I plan on getting near-normal sleep. The heat is definitely a...

32 miles?!

He should be riding the Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder Stage Race. Some "big boys" showed up for that one this year.

One stage left (I think) and less than a second separates first and second.

I asked this question on mtbr and this is the answer I got.

There are 5 riders. Trackleaders gives the numbers by tapping the Riders button. Gives info too. Brings back memories! The conservation fund section just before Mendocino is also a very nice and calm dirt road.
