While enjoying the picnics, BBQs, food, adult beverages & fireworks, remember why today is so important!

And Justice For All!

First on the agenda will be a string of firecrackers. (It's super wet out due to lots of rain all weekend and this morning)
Independence Day movie at 10 am
Go see the new one that should have included Will Smith
Hang around the house and hit the pool when the clouds clear up
Cook out with steak, shrimp, and chicken kabobs
Fireworks for an hour or so..
Hit the bed a little earlier than usually since tomorrow is a work day.

Happy 4th! Or, as it's known in this household, Mr. Bounceswoosh's birthday.

I'll second scott43's sentiment.....Happy 4th of July. And as a proud Canadian I will be watching the fireworks on TV from the Promenade in Boston! Love the Boston Pops! Our Canadian show on Friday night was the pits as usual!

Facebook just reminded me that we spent the 4th of July with @Gary Stolt and Candy two years ago.
We watched fireworks from the golf course patio, followed by grasshoppers made by Gary. I could go for a grasshopper right now.

Happy 4th! As is becoming my tradition I ran a downhill mile race this morning followed by cheering for friends at another race. Now home prepping food for 2 parties later today. I'm taking tomorrow off as well and looking forward to a relaxing day.

Just did a 2 mile bike ride with my kids on a local rail trail. It was a warm day, but we had a lot of fun. The 3 year olds are still on strider bikes. And the 5 is on her first pedal bike.

@David Chaus The National Cherry Festival in Traverse City Michigan was this coming week.
The craziness surrounding that festival, as well as the harvesting of the cherries, was bigger than the 4th.

Today I did the Scripps Ranch Old Pros 4th of July bike ride (28 mile version), it was the 40th anniversary of the ride! Money raised from this goes to kids' sports programs in the local school district. I also met some people from the EOD Wounded Warrior project, they've got a two-day ride going in October, I'm hoping to be able to participate in that.

I remember a fireworks show years ago where the fireworks were accompanied by patriotic music. Off to the east, there was a lightning storm going on. We soon observed that the lightning flashes were keeping time to the music. We soon stopped watching the fireworks and watched the lightning instead until the show was over and the music stopped.

Happy Independence Day to all!
