How long are your poles?

You're completely forgetting that pole length works like gearing height.

Faster skiers need longer poles, and skating proves it.

For racers, the faster the event, the longer the poles. Primarily for the benefits of poling while skating out of the start. About the only pole plants for racers are in SL with only a hint of a pole plant movement, if that in GS. Of course, no pole plants in SG and DH.

Had these poles so long now (40+ years) I'm sure any change would be disastrous.
