I'm curious how many pairs of skis you can wax with a 45g tin of kick wax.

I assume it depends a bit on the wax thickness, number of layers and size of your kick zone but wondering if anyone has a ballpark number.

You can assume 3 layers per ski for consistency if that helps.

I actually measured this the other day. I rub the wax onto the base in a thin layer and then touch the bar as necessary onto the iron to keep a thin sheet of melted wax flowing. For a 100 mm wide ski it takes about 1.7 grams per application. The wax I was using at the time was Racewax Universal.

I have never counted that, so no idea really. I opened new VR45 on beginning of this season, and as it's only wax I used this season (yeah for now it feels almost like Scandinavia with blue extra conditions all winter long :D) and have about 20 classic sessions (my wife has few less so let's say 30 pairs by now), and it's maybe 1/4 of wax gone by now. I normally put 6 to 7 layers, but they are super thin. So I don't know, maybe 100-150 pairs?
