Just found this on mountainflow's website. Thinking to myself probably a good idea to ask around here before impulsive buying...
I really like the fact it use much less wax thus much less scraping is needed.

You can get the same(?) one at the half the price.

It seems they are just selling the auto paint dryer as the waxer..
I don't know if the emitted light power of 1050W (as shown in the above link) would be high enough to be used as the waxer.
It seems the Montana's infrared waxer uses the 3.2KW light source which is about three times higher power than this one..

Yeah..
It would be interested to hear if anyone in this forum had tried the hand held infrared auto paint dryer with about 1KW range.

We had a thread on infrared waxers - not that specific one - some time ago.

Be aware that waxes with particulate additives (like graphite or moly base prep) may not work well with those.

Thanks, I've read the post. I do often use wax with graphite/molybdenum additives. It seems the method presented in the video I attached is to first use the infrared to heat up the ski base, then rub the wax onto the heated base, and lastly use the infrared to further melt the wax. I am not sure if there will still be a problem with additives or not.

Curious about this wax technique. Has anyone had a chance to test these?

How is this different from a toaster oven with the floor cut off?
Well, I guess it has a handle....

With a used toaster oven, you have to be careful of left over crumbs.

I know, right?

I was thinking at least a few posters on here would trigger on the idea and rig up some patio heaters. Oh well.

The patio heaters are way too tall. I'll get sun burn on my bald spot.

A better bet. (posted on the other edger thread.

Ok, now I'm curious. Not that I mind an iron. Seems too bulky though.

or

Same concept as the Wax Future.
The Amazon unit is couple pounds. Will be tough to hold steady for long work periods.
Probably best to rig it up to a sliding rail over the ski. Something like a Uni-strut & roller setup.

Uni-strut & rollers.
